Thomas Sterner: Climate Economics
Thomas is a Professor at the University of Gothenburg where he has built a large Environmental Economics Unit. He is a former president of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (2008-9), and was employed 2012-13, as the Chief Economist at the Environmental Defence Fund. Thomas was also a Coordinating Lead Author for the IPCC AR5 2010-2015 and sits on the council which will evaluate the 10bn€ French Green Bond program – the world’s largest such scheme. His academic publications have appeared in top journals including Nature, Science, and Journal of Environmental Economics and Management.

The LEEPout series is designed as a platform for hosting a line-up of internationally recognised researchers to showcase their work at the cutting edge of environmental and resource economics.
