He represented Wales at the Venice Biennale (2003), and was a NESTA Fellow (2002-2005), and a Reader in Fine Art (2005-10). He was a post-doctoral researcher in environmental post-humanities at Goldsmiths, University of London (2018-19) and currently supervises PhD candidates in Creative Practice for Transart Institute in New York, and the University of Plymouth. His artistic work has focused networks, walking, and most recently, social relations in more-than-human worlds. More information at bit.ly/simonpope.
This event, hosted by the Centre for Rural Policy Research, forms part of a University of Exeter Arts and Culture arts commission with Simon Pope and the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery (RAMM) who have teamed up in a fascinating and thought-provoking new collaboration entitled ‘Here’s to Thee’ which seeks to uncover the complex ecology and cultures that surround the art of cider making.
