Wednesday 6th October, 5.30pm-7pm: Professor Nahyan Fancy (DePauw University) joins IAIS for the Autumn term as Visiting Al-Qasimi Professor. He researches the history of science in Muslim cultures, and (very topically) the history of medicine, society and plagues in Islamic civilisation. His inaugural lecture is titled:
"Knowing the Signs of Disease:Tracking the Evolving Understandings of Plague in Islamic Societies, 700–1300"
