Event details
Research shows a lack of climate action is due in part to perceptions of scientific uncertainty and a lack of understanding of climate change and potential solutions. Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects are powerful vehicles for sharing expert knowledge to decision makers and the public – Wikipedia alone is read 22 billion times a month. However, there are gaps and errors in many of Wikipedia's climate articles.
GSI and Wikimedia UK have launched a year-long project to mobilise the institute’s research and expert knowledge onto Wikimedia’s open source platforms, filling knowledge gaps and working to combat climate misinformation.
Listen to the GSI's Wikimedia Visiting Fellow and find out how to get involved at this seminar session!
