From Below, is a documentary that showcases the mutual aid and grassroots community action that helped feed and comfort the vulnerable during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns.
The film focuses on specific towns and cities across England and speaks to how community action can be supported in order to help people in future crises, both of the climate and of the economy. The film will be introduced by Dr Oli Mould from Royal Holloway who was the lead researcher on the film.
From Below is part of a broader research project, funded by the Arts & Humanities Research Council. Details about the project and further outputs can be found at mutualaid.uk.
