Abstract
Title: Do you feel connected? A research line on psychological and physiological reactions to social interactions at work
There are numerous social interactions at work. These can be positive but also negative. Based on the Affective Events Theory (AET; Weiss & Cropanzano, 1996) and our conceptual model on “Leader-member relationships (LMRs)” (London et al., 2023), this talk will present results from “experience-sampling” studies on intra-individual connections between social interactions at work (focus on manager-employee interactions) and psychological (e.g. burnout) and biological stress reactions (e.g. salivary and hair cortisol). It is discussed how combining psychological and biological measures could advance insights into social interactions at work.
