Bio:
Martyna Åšliwa is Professor of Business Ethics and Organisation Studies as well as Associate Dean for Ethics, Responsibility and Sustainability at Durham University Business School, Durham University. She adopts an interdisciplinary approach to studying management and organisations, with an emphasis on issues of social sustainability and business ethics, and especially equality, diversity, inclusion and respect (EDIR) in the context of international and global firms and other types of organisations. Conceptually, her research has drawn from economics, history, linguistics, philosophy, sociology and translation studies. In recent years, the research projects she has been involved in have addressed the following areas: (1) equality, diversity and inclusion in multinational companies (MNCs); (2) global professional mobility and careers; (3) linguistic diversity, multilinguality and translation in international organisations; (4) business and leadership ethics; (5) management education. Her academic accomplishments have been recognised through the award of Fellowship of the British Academy of Management (BAM) and the prestigious Otto Mønsted Visiting Professorship at Copenhagen Business School. Martyna is actively involved in service for the academic community. She currently serves as Vice Chair of BAM for Equality, Diversity, Inclusivity and Respect, as well as Co-Editor-in[1]Chief of the journal Management Learning. She is also Associate Editor at the British Journal of Management as well as Human Resource Management Journal.
