GSI Seminar: GSI Reports at COP28 – Global Tipping Points Report part 2. Follow-on discussion

The Global Tipping Points Report was launched at COP28 on 6 December 2023. The report is an authoritative assessment of the risks and opportunities of both negative and positive tipping points in the Earth system and society. It is the work of more than 200 researchers from over 90 organisations in 26 countries. This seminar is a follow-on discussion from our seminar on 7 February with the opportunity for further discussion and will be led by section leads, Dr Joshua Buxton, Dr Steve Smith and Dr Tom Powell. A post event trip to the pub is likely.

Event details

Following the GSI seminar on the Global Tipping Points Report, we will be hosting a follow up session to continue the discussion on the 28th February. While the report has synthesised the existing state of knowledge, it leaves open important research gaps, as well as questions around how best to integrate this knowledge into the governance space. Come along to discuss with us how we are planning to build on the success of the report, how this intersects with your interests and how you can get involved with future work. This workshop will open with a brief overview from Professor Tim Lenton, prior to a broader discussion for everyone to engage with.
