IDSAI Seminar

Event details

We are looking forward to welcoming Dr Alden Conner, Senior Researcher for Research Applications at The Alan Turing Institute who will be speaking on 'creating sustainable research tools with real-world applications - lessons from the Alan Turing Institute’s Environment and Sustainability Grand Challenge'

Abstract:

The Alan Turing Institute’s Environment & Sustainability Grand Challenge seeks to tackle some of our most pressing environmental challenges including climate change and the resulting loss of biodiversity and wildlife habitat. Researchers in the Grand Challenge develop and deploy cutting-edge artificial intelligence-based tools to enable monitoring, forecasting, and responding to the effects of climate change. I will discuss how we not only research and develop AI tools but work collaboratively across disciplines to ensure that their outputs are applicable and generalizable, enabling broader adoption of new technologies.
