GSI Media Training Session 3

Want to do media interviews on climate change, but not sure you're ready?

The University gets a lot of media requests on climate change, and our goal is to get new faces in the media. As a member of the GSI community, you already know enough about climate change science and its implications to tell the media about it and empower people to act.

Event details

The University gets a lot of media requests on climate change, and our goal is to get new faces in the media. The world needs more people like you to provide informed, critical views on the latest science, technology and policy. As a member of the GSI community, you already know enough about climate change science and its implications to tell the media about it and empower people to act.

In this session, we will do some actual interview practice. Alex will bring his camera/recording kit and put his journalist hat on. You will have a chance to do a 5-minute mock interview about climate change in general, or on a more specific topic of your choosing. We will go over the recordings together on the day or in a subsequent session. The interview is completely optional, and attendees are still welcome to come along and watch. The sessions are a safe and supportive space for practice and constructive feedback.

This series is open to students and academics of all levels.
