Day 1 of the conference will showcase GSI’s leading climate research areas such as the Global Carbon Budget and the recently launched Global Tipping Points Report. Day 2 will be interactive with workshops exploring areas such as climate engineering, planetary health, climate justice, climate change and water, positive tipping points, climate change and ecosystems and co-production. To help showcase your current research, we are inviting you to bring a poster along to display throughout the event. Please indicate your interest in submitting a poster on registration.

              Responsible Climate Intervention

              Emerging issues in Climate Change and Health: The role of ecosystems

Climate change has wide ranging impacts on human health and wellbeing. In this session, we will explore the role of ecosystems in mediating impacts and discuss future directions in research. What is the impact of green space on mortality from urban heat? How will changes in climate impact on risks from pathogens in coastal waters?  How can we better inform policymakers of the potential risks (and benefits) of climate change on health?  How can changes in food systems be sustainable for health and the environment? Join us for a mixture of short talks, a round table and a world café to explore this topic and the emerging University strategy on Climate Change and Health.

              Case studies grounded on fieldwork and experience of (in) justice:
