Alan Desmond

Alan Desmond is an Associate Professor at Leicester Law School, where he has worked since September 2016. He has published in leading international journals on the topic of migrants'  rights and in 2022 guest edited a special issue of the Journal of Immigration, Asylum, and Nationality Law on seriously ill immigrants' right to resist expulsion on the basis of the Article 3 ECHR right not to be subjected to inhuman or degrading treatment. Before entering legal academia, Alan worked as a freelance print and broadcast journalist in Poland and wrote a number of award-winning Irish language books.

Anne Bishop

Anne Bishop is the Private Healthcare Business Manager at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Part of her role involves the identification and management of overseas visitors (non-UK residents) at the Trust. Anne has worked in the NHS for almost 30 years and in this field for about 17 years. Anne also worked as part of the Department of Health and Social Care Cost Recovery Team between 2015 & 2016 andchairs the Southern Region of the NHS Overseas Visitors Eligibility Partnership.
