Our President and Vice-Chancellor invites alumni and friends of the University of Exeter in New York City for an informative and interactive evening to learn about the latest research led by our world-famous Climate Scientists.

This event brings together alumni, supporters and friends of the University of Exeter in the USA during New York Climate Week, which convenes key climate leaders each year to accelerate climate action and is the biggest global climate event of its kind.

Your host, President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Lisa Roberts FRSB FRSA, warmly invites supporters of Exeter join us for an informative and interactive evening in New York City to learn about the latest research led by our world-famous Climate Scientists who will be showcasing the latest developments in their research and holding a dialogue with you during the Q&A. 

Our speakers include:

Professor Tim Lenton, Chair in Climate Change and Earth System Science and the founding Director of the Global Systems Institute. Professor Lenton is a multi-award-winning researcher whose pioneering work on tipping points identifies the small-scale interventions that businesses and governments can make to unlock rapid decarbonisation across the global economy.

Professor Gail Whiteman is a Professor of Sustainability at the University of Exeter Business School, Founder Arctic Basecamp and the Professor-in-Residence at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. Professor Whiteman is an expert on global risk arising from the systemic changes occurring in the natural environment. Her work involves building science-based targets collective business action, including those for a future low-carbon economy.
