As a precursor to the current major development programme at the Cathedral, substantial archaeological work was carried out in both the Cloisters and the Quire. John will share with us some of the exciting results of that work. The archaeological work has also helped us to better understand the physical extent of the Norman cathedral that was the predecessor to the present beautiful Decorated Gothic cathedral.
