Sound Trail Launch

Come on a guided walk exploring our Sound Trail around Reed Hall

Take this guided walk exploring our Sound Trail around Reed Hall

Event details

On Wednesday 6 November at 1.30pm Alex Adams from the Grounds Team, will be leading a walk around our new biodiversity Sound Trail near Reed Hall. Please meet outside the front of Reed Hall at 1.30pm - this is free to come on and a lovely chance to get away from out desks and out into our grounds to enjoy the stunning trees at this time of year.

The Sound Trail is the culmination of a two-year project managed by the Sustainability Team and the Grounds Team with advice from Arts & Culture.  The trail consists of five beautiful wooden posts engraved with facts about trees – each with a metal plaque etched with a leaf from a surrounding tree and a QR code linking to the Sustainability website. On the website you can listen to poems recorded by students who worked with eco poet Sean Borodale last summer, on poetry inspired by the surroundings –to a background of ambient sounds around Reed Hall. There are also natural history facts about the trees which make up the trail and photos by Jim Wileman.
