Workshop: Causal AI in Healthcare, in collaboration with EPSRC CHAI Hub

The Exeter Health Analytics network invites you to join us for an insightful half-day workshop exploring the transformative potential of Causal AI in healthcare. The workshop will take place on Thursday, January 9th from 9:30 AM to 1:45 PM in the XFi Building, Streatham Campus.

This event brings together researchers from across disciplines to explore how Causal AI can revolutionize healthcare by embedding cause-and-effect relationships into artificial intelligence systems. In partnership with the EPSRC-funded Causality in Healthcare AI Hub (CHAI), we will examine innovative approaches to addressing complex healthcare challenges, including data heterogeneity, distribution shifts, and algorithmic fairness.

The workshop will feature expert presentations on cutting-edge methodological innovations in Causal AI, covering diverse applications from drug discovery and imaging diagnostics to prediction and fair representation learning. Of particular interest will be a detailed introduction to the CHAI pump-priming fund, which will open for applications from mid-January to mid-February, specifically supporting teams new to Causal AI research.

Through interactive roundtable sessions, participants will have the opportunity to develop research ideas, form collaborative teams, and explore funding pathways. All ideas generated will be captured in a shared research question bank for future development.
