Climate Tipping Points and their Impacts on Migration

Join Professor Tim Lenton and Dr Ben Hudson for a talk on the impacts of possibly triggering Earth system tipping points on global migration patterns and the lives of those displaced. The talk will be followed by a conversation with Tim and Ben chaired by Dr James Dyke.

As the climate crisis impacts patterns of migration across the world, Earth system tipping points provide important markers for large scale environmental events that are set to reshape global migration patterns. This talk will explore climate tipping points and the implications from triggering such system changes on the lives of those in threatened areas who face rising sea levels, desertification, and food and water shortages, subsequently driving large-scale migration changes.
