Event details

Institute of Health Research/ Exeter Medical Education Research Group/ PenCLAHRC seminar

Realist evaluation and realist synthesis are new kids on the block in the family of research approaches.  Both use a realist logic of analysis to help make sense of the outcome patterns in complex interventions. This presentation sets out to explain where realist  approaches fit in and why.

Geoff is a GP and internationally-recognised expert in realist synthesis. He developed quality and publication standards for realist syntheses (www.ramesesproject.org) and in 2015 will produce similar  resources for realist evaluations through the recently-funded RAMESES II project.
