University of Exeter policy
The University of Exeter’s Open Access Research and Research Data Management Policy supports the UK Research Councils' position that publicly funded research is a public good that should be made openly available to the public when legally, commercially, and ethically appropriate. The research data management part of this policy applies to all research conducted at the University, regardless of funding source, establishing that:
- all research publications should include a data access statement
- research proposals must include research data management plans
- research data should be considered for retention, preservation, and curation in ORE, or an appropriate national or international data service or domain repository
Note that the University of Exeter’s new Open Access Policy (April 2022) replaces the open access elements of the Open Access Research and Research Data Management Policy. The research data management part still applies, until such time as a new University Research Data Management Policy is published.
