Exeter City Council - new powers to help deal with unacceptable behaviour in this area
Exeter City Council has made a Public Services Protection order under section 59 (4) of the Anti-social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014.
Unacceptable behaviour
Consumption of intoxicating Substances
such as alcohol (except where permitted) and/or illegal drugs or possessing them for use in this area
Aggressive begging
which is begging in an intimidating manner or begging within 5 metres of an automatic paypoint or ATM
Urinating in public
except where permitted
Behaving in an anti-social manner
when alone or in a group, you may be directed to leave for up to 24 hours.
If you commit any of the above acts in this area you could face being:
- Directed to leave the area for up to 24 hours
- Issued with a fixed penalty notice
- Prosecuted in court (fines not exceeding Level 3 on the standard scale - currently at £1000)
