Student Cases Handbook
This section provides signposting and links to policies and procedures governing different types of academic and non-academic student cases. The are located within the University’s Regulations on Disciplinary and other Procedures for Students, as well as other Handbooks of the Teaching Quality Assurance Manual.
1. Procedures relating to Student Academic Appeals
1.1 This procedure tells students how to appeal against a decision made by the University about their academic performance.
2. Academic Conduct and Practice
2.1 Please refer to Chapter 12 – Academic Conduct and Practice – of the Assessment, Progression and Awarding: Taught Programmes Handbook.
3. Research Misconduct: Procedure for Graduate Research Students Suspected of Research Misconduct
3.1 Please refer to Chapter 13 – Research Misconduct: Procedure for Graduate Research Students Suspected of Research Misconduct – of the Postgraduate Research Handbook.
4. Student Complaints Procedure
4.1 This procedure tells students how to make a formal complaint about an academic or non-academic service provided by the University.
5. Fitness to Practise Procedures
5.1 This procedure aims to protect students and those around them (including patients, clients and/or service users, staff and/or members of the public) from those whose fitness to practise is currently impaired.
6. Health, Wellbeing and Support for Study Procedures (HWSSP)
6.1 This procedure is designed to ensure that the University has provided students with every reasonable health and wellbeing support to enable them to progress and complete their studies.
7.1 This procedure will be instigated where there is reason to believe that the University’s rules and regulations have been broken, and/or when the behaviour of a student falls below the expected standards.
