Neil Woodford CBE (LLD)

Neil Woodford is one of the best known fund managers in the UK investment industry. A disciplined, valuation- oriented investment approach has been his hallmark.

Neil graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in Economics in 1981 and started working in the City at Dominion Insurance later that year. He joined Reed Pension Fund as a trainee equity analyst in 1983 and, after a spell in a corporate finance role for TSB, started managing money at Eagle Star in 1987. The following year, Neil joined Perpetual in Henley-on-Thames, where he became a pivotal part of the UK equities team for more than 26 years, fine-tuning his distinctive investment approach and developing a reputation as one of the most highly-respected and trusted fund managers in the industry.

In 2014, Neil established Woodford Investment Management, distilling 30 years of investment experience and learning into a new fund management business founded on his own principles.

Neil was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2013 for services to the economy.
