Exeter is a lively and energetic city, and yet is only 10 minutes from the moors and beaches.

The South West

We welcome over 30,000 students and 7,000 members of staff to our four friendly campuses: Streatham and St Luke’s in Exeter, Devon, and Penryn and Truro in Cornwall. Everyone at the University benefits from living in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.

Exeter is an historic cathedral city with UNESCO City of Literature status, and the county of Devon has a fabulous coastline and two national parks. Cornwall has a unique and fascinating ecology with scenic beaches and dramatic clifftop views, coupled with a rich history of artistic and scientific innovation, including pioneering environmental technology.

We’re lucky to have some of the most beautiful, green campuses in the UK, providing outstanding quality of life, low rates of crime and increasingly excellent economic prospects. After winning the sustainability category in the most recent Guardian University Awards (2020), we're making big strides to make our campuses even greener, and our target is to be net zero by 2030.

The South West has cemented its reputation as one of the very best places to live, work, and study in the UK. It’s no wonder our students are consistently amongst the most satisfied in the country (First in the Russell Group for overall student satisfaction, National Student Survey 2022).
