A Joint Statement from the University of Exeter and Exeter Students’ Guild

Support for students affected by recent global events in the Middle East

We remain deeply concerned and distressed by the escalation of violence in Israel and Gaza. Our thoughts are with all those who are suffering as a result, wherever they are in the world. We know that the impacts of the tragic loss of life are wide and deep, and we are working to support those members of our University who have been most closely affected.

Our community stands together against all acts of violence and hatred. We have been heartened, but not surprised, to see staff and students from all backgrounds coming together to support each other this week. We work to foster a community where those from all ethnic and religious backgrounds feel safe, valued, and included.

Together we wish to restate that there is no place for hate in our community, and that we all have a role to play in standing against all forms of intolerance.
