St German's is the name given to four houses (Chagford, Christow, Lydford and Widecombe). Between the blocks is a lovely garden area and pond, along with outside exercise equipment.
In total there are 144 single en-suite rooms arranged into flats of six with a shared kitchen and living area. The en-suite facilities consist of an enclosed shower cubicle, toilet, sink and mirror.
The residence is close to Cornwall House with its social activities and open air swimming pool.
This residence is managed by our partners University Partnership Programme.
Please note - whole flats will be designated as either postgraduate or undergraduate; student types will not be mixed within a flat.

Room size
Rooms in St German's are approximately 14.3m2 (2590mm x 5520mm).
These measurements are a guide only. In some residences room sizes vary considerably.
Bed size
Rooms in Chagford, Christow, Lydford have standard double beds (4'6" by 6'3"). Rooms in Widecombe have long small double beds (4'0" by 6'6").
The height of the storage space under the bed is a maximum of 28cm.

Shared kitchens in St German's have a cooker with oven, grill and electric plate hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, dining table, chairs, ironing board and iron, and waste bins.
The quantity of items provided depends on the size of the flat. You will need to provide pots and pans, cutlery and crockery.

St German's gallery
I enjoyed living in St German's mainly because of the location, it was close to the Business School which is where I attended most of my lectures, and it was also convenient for me to travel to town.
Living there also provided me with many memorable experiences as I got to meet so many amazing people not only in my building but also from other accommodations nearby. It had a perfect balance of social life and quiet evenings, which is something I really appreciated.
