Stephanie Chivers (2020), Investment Surveyor at Octopus Real Estate

I work for Octopus Real Estate, which is part of the Octopus Group, in the Heathcare Funds team. I chose the company as they value the flexibility of a start up style of working, with a relativity flat management structure, but have the same opportunities of a  large well-established company. This has meant I have exposure to a broad range of tasks and responsibilities within my role as an Investment Surveyor.

The role is diverse and changes day to day however the core tasks include analysing care homes as long term investments, writing and presenting investment memorandums, analysing tenant balance sheets, updating the fund model and producing quarterly investors reports. The element of the job I love the most is working with professionals I can learn from and that push me to challenge myself but give me autonomy and value my input.
