Peter Scargill - Director of Commercial, Residential & Campus Services
As Director of Commercial, Residential and Campus Services, Peter is responsible for leading the strategic and operational development of the University’s commercial services, driving income and value for the University, which supports its academic vision. Peter leads a large-scale and diverse team of in-house staff ranging from senior management through to operational team members, to provide customer focused facilities and hospitality services that support world-class academic activities and an exceptional student experience.
Commercial, Residential and Campus Services encompasses a range of services across the University for staff, students and visitors. These services include: Student Residences strategy and operations; Retail and Catering businesses; Event and Conference Management; Commercial leases and contracting; Facilities Management; Car Parking; Security and Portering and Transport.
Having joined the University in July 2019, Peter comes with 30 years’ experience within the hospitality sector.

Sarah Snow - Deputy Director of Commercial, Residential & Campus Services
Sarah is an experienced leader who has undertaken a plethora of roles within the Higher Education and not for profit sectors. Having held three voluntary Non-Executive Director positions, Sarah has extensive experience of operating at Board level.
As Deputy Director for Commercial, Residential and Campus Services, Sarah's responsibilities include contract management, building compliance and front of house services for c. 6500 student bedrooms; setting commercial strategy to achieve income growth; marketing and business improvement.
Sarah is also respoonsible for Cleaning (FM), Porterage and Mail, the Forum Complex, Receptions, Facilities Management Logistics and Contracts Management, Residence Operations, Operational Support and BICSc Academy, Facilities Management Safety and Quality.
Sarah was previously a trustee on the board of Hospiscare Shops Ltd and a Non-Executive Director of Visit South Devon.

Simon Law - Head of Commercial Operations
Simon has strategic leadership, development and operational responsibility for the University's in-house Commercial Operations Services.
These formats comprise of the Retails Shops, Retail Catering, Residential Catering, Licensed Premises and Hospitality, Conferencing & Event food service delivery.
Simon is also responsible for Event Exeter and Commercial Leases.

Dan Nicoll - Head of Security
Dan joined the University in August 2020 and comes with a wealth of security knowledge from almost three decades within the industry. Dan’s previous management roles have included Firearms Range Officer within the military, Police Officer with the Metropolitan Police Service, training crews in customer service and safety and emergency procedures with Virgin Atlantic Airways and recently as a Security Performance Manager at Gatwick Airport, responsible for passenger security operations and experience.
As Head of Security for the University, Dan has overall leadership responsibility and strategic planning for the campus security operations, and has some exciting plans for the Estate Patrol (Campus Security) team. He has already made some significant changes, including further advancement of the SafeZone app, instigated a CCTV reform and review of the Safer Walking routes, modifications to working practices and an alternative uniform to enhance the teams’ profile and help increase engagement amongst the community.
Dan is also responsible for Transport, Parking and St Luke’s campus management.
Dan’s role involves working with a large network of professional staff across the university and with external partner agencies to ensure the University remains a safe place to study, work and use.
Representing the University, Dan sits on a number of Safety and Security working groups to ensure best practice is shared amongst our partners, this allows the Estate Patrol team to offer the best service to support our students, staff and users of our campus grounds.

David Evans - Head of Grounds Operations
David joined the University in 2013 and is responsible for managing the Grounds Sports Team and directly line managing the Grounds Management Team. His role also includes ensuring resources are adequately managed, finding ways of driving efficiency and increasing standards and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and sustainability targets.
David originally worked in agriculture - he has also worked in sales and customer service management. Prior to starting at the University he worked as a head groundsman on a military establishment for 12 years.
He studied for a First Diploma in Land-Based Industries and a National Diploma in Agriculture at Reaseheath College in Cheshire. He gained a Higher National Diploma in Agriculture from Seale Hayne College in Newton Abbot and an RHS General, Advanced Certificate and Diploma at Bicton College. He has also been awarded a Foundation Degree in Horticultural Science from Bicton College.
In 2017 David attained a Level 4 Diploma in Arboriculture.
