Chrysten ColeGeneral Counsel and Deputy Director of Compliance, Governance and RiskChrysten heads the Legal and Cases Team and continues to provide support for Strategic Procurement and Construction from a legal perspective. Chrysten is the main contact for consumer rights queries and general policy/ procedural matters. Paul BiddleCommercial Contracts SolicitorPaul joined the Legal and Cases Team in December 2011 from a regional law firm. Paul works primarily on general commercial matters, in particular drafting, reviewing and advising on contracts for goods and services and IT/SAAS contracts. Emma WilsonProperty and Estates SolicitorEmma is the University’s Property and Estates solicitor within the Legal and Cases team. Emma joined the University in 2018 having previously practised as a property litigation solicitor at a regional law firm for over 10 years. Emma deals with a wide range of property matters on behalf of the University, including commercial leases and licences, residential property agreements, accommodation contracts and land access agreements and advises on a variety of land and property related issues across the campuses Email: E.Wilson8@exeter.ac.uk |
Rachael BairdIntellectual Property SolicitorRachael Baird advises on intellectual property matters for both research and business purposes. Rachael’s work supports the protection, exploitation and enforcement of University-generated intellectual property including copyright, trademarks and patents. Rachael’s work includes drafting negotiating and reviewing licencing agreements, securing trademark registration and patent protection, as well as supporting the set-up of spin out companies and managing the sale of shares. Eleanor LaversContracts Paralegal and Intellectual Property Portfolio CoordinatorEleanor supports Rachael Baird with intellectual property matters for both research and business purposes. Eleanor assists with the management enforcement and exploitation of University generated intellectual property. Eleanor administers the University’s patent and trademarks portfolio. Eleanor’s role involves drafting, reviewing and negotiating research and intellectual property contracts including non-disclosure agreements, material transfer agreements, data-sharing agreements, student IP assignments and copyright licences. Luke DunhamEducation Contracts OfficerLuke is the University’s Education Contracts Officer. Luke’s role includes reviewing and drafting contracts between the University and third parties for a number of education matters including mutual student exchange, delivery of joint programmes, student work placements with companies, and student fieldtrips. Emily TimminsCommercial Education and Research Contracts Officer (Solicitor)Emily works on commercial education contracts where the University is working with the private sector (e.g. delivering degree apprenticeships to companies). Emily also works on research contracts for the College of Medicine and Health, with a focus on clinical trial agreements. Charlotte BeerResearch Contracts Officer (Solicitor)Charlotte joined the University in December 2018. Prior to joining the University, Charlotte qualified in London as a solicitor practicing commercial and corporate law. Charlotte’s work includes advising on a range of research contracts including collaborative research and consortium agreements, EU funded agreements and studentships with industry partners whilst also advising on contract research and consultancy queries. Charlotte is the primary contact for contractual queries for the College of Life and Environmental Sciences and the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences. Katie EnticottContracts AdviserKatie works on research contracts within the Legal and Cases Team. Katie's work includes reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts including collaborative research agreements, studentships, non-disclosure agreements, data-sharing agreements and material transfer agreements. Katie works on a daily basis alongside the Contracts Officers for all colleges and primarily deals with contractual matters for the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences and the College of Life and Environmental Sciences.
