Impact and Partnership Development Manager (IPDM) - FAILSAFE Project Manager
Impact and Partnership Development

Angus is the Commercial Lead on the FAILSAFE project at the Medical Research Council Centre for Medical Mycology at the University of Exeter. Linking industry and government with the vital research the CMM carries out on fungal disease, treatments and vaccines targeted at Low and Middle Income countries. Fungal pathogens are a major threat to public health as they are becoming increasingly common and resistant to treatment with only four classes of antifungal medicines currently available so research into this area is vital. WHO has identified the importance of research into the growing threat of fungal pathogens and their treatment. Coupled with emerging evidence indicating that the incidence and geographic range of fungal diseases are both expanding worldwide due to global warming and the increase of international travel and trade means this is a hugely interesting and important area of medical research and my role is to connect industry and government to create commercial partnerships to support this vital work.

He has a background in commercial management ranging from Fortune 500 companies to Tech start ups and was most recently Commercial Director of a medical diagnostics company working with government and industry in the UK and internationally.
