About me:
I have worked at the University's Penryn campus in various roles but mostly within the Exeter Innovation team (formerly known as Innovation, Impact & Business, IIB). I support delivery of impactful research and drive connections to establish meaningful relationships with industry, businesses and regional partners. I have worked in various business support programmes including Agri-tech Cornwall and the South West Centre of Excellence in Satellite Applications, as well as aligning my activities in support of space/data/aerospace sector business (not all just about rockets) and Cornwall Space Cluster. I am currently back down to Earth supporting the Evolve Futures programme.
Qualifications:

2006 - 2009 BSc in Conservation Biology (1st Class), University of Exeter
1989 -1991 Diploma of Nursing, Flinders University of South Australia
Career:
Previous to my IPDM (Space) role, I worked as Impact & Partnership Development Officer (IPDO) at the South West Centre for Excellence in Satellite Applications, a business support programme supported and funded by the UK Space Agency and the Satellite Applications Catapult, to support growth in the space sector across Devon & Cornwall. I also previously worked on the Agri-tech Cornwall Programme.
I also spent several years working to support the Westra & van Houte microbiology research groups at the Environment & Sustainability Institute (ESI), and with Professor Alex Thornton at the Human Behaviour and Cultural Evolution Group (HuBCEG). While working with HuBCEG, I actively carried out research activities related to human cultural evolution and engaged with local community groups, businesses and schools.
Prior to studying at the University of Exeter's Penryn campus in 2006, I spent several years working in the public health sector as a Registered Nurse and as a carer in Australia and the UK.
