Impact and Partnership Development
Julia is the Impact and Partnership Development Manager for the South West Institute of Technology (SWIoT). The partnership brings together FE colleges across the south west peninsula and the Universities of Exeter and Plymouth to drive the growth of technical skills in the South West. We work together with local employers to identify learning opportunities and we train and upskill learners across the region and beyond. Julia works with partner colleges, academics in the University of Exeter, employers and stakeholders to ensure we reach our goals and increase numbers and diversity on our degree apprenticeship programmes in Digital and Technology Solutions and Civil Engineering.
Julia is based in the Degree Apprenticeships team at the University of Exeter. Her work covers business development for Engineering and Mining. She oversees a validated partnership degree apprenticeship in Data Science that is delivered by Exeter College in collaboration with our Maths Department. She is interested in new programme development, specifically in humanities, social sciences and environment / engineering and sustainability.
A key role Julia has adopted is to have oversight of degree apprenticeship marketing activities, working with colleagues across communications and marketing, including on website, social media, digital campaigns and events.
Prior to her current role, she was the Employability and Student Engagement Manager in the College of Social Sciences and International Studies. She joined the University of Exeter in 2008.
In 2018 she became a Fellow of Advanced HE.
