Katie Cooke is the Senior Programme Manager for the Nature and Climate Impact Team (NCIT) at the University of Exeter, leading the delivery of high-impact research and engagement initiatives aimed at accelerating action on nature and climate. She is an experienced Higher Education research programme manager, with a track record of managing multi-million-pound UKRI-funded projects including the CE Hub and NICER programme.
Katie excels in managing complex, large-scale research programmes and building strategic partnerships across academia, industry, policy, and civil society. Her expertise spans stakeholder engagement, research finance, and inclusive practices, with a strong focus on Mental Health, Well-being, and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I).
Previously, Katie held senior leadership roles in local government and worked as a consultant in the Built Environment and Urban Design sector, providing her with valuable insight into public policy, systems thinking, and cross-sector collaboration. She is passionate about driving meaningful change and advancing Exeter’s global leadership in sustainability and innovation.
