About me:
Role
Isabel leads the Data, Engineering and Physical Sciences Team spearheading and supporting collaborative research, partnership and impact development with industry, external stakeholders and government partners. She also leads the Data Science and AI partnserhsip strategy at Exeter and manages the corporate relationship with BT.
The Team works across a wider range of disciplines and sectors supporting and leading on partnership development, research impact, innovation, collaborative/contract research and consultancy. We engage with a wide range of sub-sectors in Emerging Tech and Artificial Intelligence such as: Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing, Data Centric Engineering, Environmental Intelligence, Health Analytics and Computational Social Sciences.
Profile
Isabel Gonzalez is a senior manager with a high level of technical expertise and knowledge in engineering, technology and product development. She has a proven track record of delivering successful projects in both industry and academia and have worked with a diverse range of organisations and individuals from small start-up companies to large organisations. Isabel loves working at the interface between academia and industry, putting together teams to solve new, challenging problems in creative ways.
Isabel has a PhD in Engineering and a BSc in Electronic Engineering. Following her PhD she worked as a KTP Associate and as a R&D manager in industry prior to joining the University in 2008.
Since joining Exeter, Isabel has undertaken different roles as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership manager, she has lead the contract research and consultancy team and the Business Development Team prior to do 6 months secondment in Renishaw.
