Hugh McCann
Director - Estate Services
Hugh leads the management of the University’s Estate Services team which includes Strategic Estate planning; Engineering services and Maintenance of the Estate; delivery of the Capital Project Programme and the Long Term Maintenance Programme. More recently the Environment and Climate Emergency Response Group has joined the Estate Services team.
The Estates Team are based in Streatham Farm on Streatham Campus. Hugh is a chartered Building Surveyor and has been with the University for almost twenty years. Prior to joining the University he has 20 years’ experience in private practice with Architects and Surveying practices in Ireland, England and Australia and experience of working for Tier one Contractors.
Alison Davidson
Director - Sport and Grounds
Prior to becoming Director of Sport in 2014, Alison had worked for a number of organisations within the leisure sector, extensively with the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association) since 2002, becoming Regional Director in 2004 and then Divisional Business Manager of the South and West Region in April 2013. Alison has been involved in managing national programmes of the NGB and overseeing strategic delivery across the south of the Country.
As Director of Sport, Alison leads the University of Exeter Sport team, overseeing each department and working closely with the directors and assistant directors of each area.
Peter Scargill
Director - Commercial, Residential and Campus Services
As Director of Commercial, Residential and Campus Services, Peter is responsible for leading the strategic and operational development of the University’s commercial services, driving income and value for the University which supports its academic vision. Peter leads a large-scale and diverse team of in-house staff ranging from senior management through to operational team members, to provide customer focused facilities and hospitality services that support world-class academic activities and an exceptional student experience.
Commercial, Residential and Campus Services encompasses a range of services across the University for staff, students and visitors. These services include: Student Residences strategy and operations; Retail and Catering businesses; Event and Conference Management; Commercial leases and contracting; Facilities Management; Car Parking; Security and Portering and Transport.
Having joined the University in July 2019, Peter comes with 30 years’ experience within the hospitality sector.
Nina Sidney-Wicks
Business Manager
Nina is currently Business Manager within Campus Infrastructure and Operational Support Services (CIOSS), and joined the team in September 2019. In her current role she provides executive and business management support across the entire range of issues within the Directors and CIOSS Executive team portfolio. She also heads up the CIOSS Executive and Estates Services Administration business support teams. Nina joined the University in February 2013 initially as Business Operations Manager for Research Services, Innovation, Impact and Business and Doctoral College until September 2018 and prior to her current role, she joined the Executive Suite for a 12 month maternity cover secondment as Business Manager to the Registrar and Secretary, Mike Shore-Nye.
Nina has worked within a variety of industries and organisations throughout the South West and has over 25 years’ experience within business and management.
