Policies and regulations
The key document that governs the way the University manages its financial affairs is the Financial Regulations, which is approved by Council and which sets out the broad policies relating to financial controls.
Compliance with the Financial Regulations is mandatory and any breach by a member of staff may be treated as a disciplinary offence.
Financial Regulations apply to all members of University staff.
These Financial Regulations were approved by Council in May 2024.
Fraud
The University is committed to an effective anti-fraud and corruption strategy designed to encourage prevention, promote detection and clarify responses through a defined plan which incorporates investigatory action. This is set out in the Fraud Policy Statement and the Fraud Response Plan, which outlines the process for staff who wish to notify any suspicions to senior management and also how senior management should respond to such notifications.
