IIT Delhi - Exeter Partnership

Lisa Roberts at IIT Delhi

On January 22nd 2024, Exeter and IIT Delhi signed an agreement committing resources to develop a collaborative partnership based on our shared areas of priority. The partnership focuses on three areas of shared priority and expertise between our institutions:

  1. Sport Science, Elite Performance, and Rehabilitation
  2. Climate Science, Environmental Data, and Clean Energy
  3. Operations Research, AI, and Automation

Aligned closely with areas of thematic priority outlined in the UK-India 2030 roadmap, Exeter and IIT Delhi will combine our expertise to deliver a greener, fairer, and healthier future through research aligned to these topics. For example, we will work together to meet the needs of India’s rapidly growing sports sector, seeking to meet the needs of sport start-ups and businesses, support elite performance of athletes and rehabilitation of those with industries, and utilise the power of physical activity to promote a healthier and more equitable society. Meanwhile, in the fields of climate science and clean energy, complementary expertise in both science and policy change mean we are uniquely well placed to meet the needs of industry as we aim for a sustainable transition to net zero. Our work encourages and is underpinned by the latest innovations in data science, technology, and systems research.
