Mentorship Programme to Support Ukrainian Academics
We are pleased to invite colleagues at the University of Exeter to support their peers in Ukraine through a new mentorship scheme, led by Science for Ukraine.
What is the purpose of the mentoring scheme?
The scheme provides a platform for UK-homed academics from any discipline to provide support to colleagues in Ukraine, in the form of advice with professional development, and insight into academic life and work in the UK.
Areas covered include support with:
- Career planning and development
- Finding and applying for jobs
- Securing research funding
- Networking and profile building
- Understanding UK academic culture
How the scheme works
Since 2023, the University of Exeter is proud to be partnered with King Danylo University. Wherever possible, mentorship relationships will be established between colleagues from our two institutions. However, as not all subjects offered at King Danylo and the University of Exeter have an equivalent at the partner university, there may be instances in which colleagues will be partnered with an academic based at another institution.
Mentors will be partnered with mentees who are at a similar stage in their career, and from a related academic discipline. The mentorship will commence as soon as a suitable match is found. Meetings are expected to take place at least once every two weeks for a minimum of three months. In order to facilitate meetings, you will have access to the PushFar Platform, through which meetings can be scheduled.
If you’d like to find out more, please contact the team at ScienceforUkraine at ukmentoring@gmail.com. For general enquiries about the Exeter-King Danylo partnership, please contact globalpartnerships-team@exeter.ac.uk.
