Supporting personal and professional development and creating pipelines into leadership
A review of our existing EDI mandatory training, in line with legislative changes.
Our third cohort of 100BWPN launches in January 2025, offering a group of Black women academics the opportunity to benefit from mentorship, career coaching, action learning and peer group coaching, networking, master classes, campaign and profile-raising opportunities.
A review into the current Exeter Professional offer took place in 2022/23, focusing on the career and progression pathways for professional services colleagues, including how those are enabled by learning and development. A set of recommendations have now been approved, implementation will commenced in January 2024.
The Exeter Academic review took place in 2022/23 with the aim of reviewing the current academic careers structure to create a new framework that is light touch, clear and flexible. The review resulted in 12 recommendations gaining approval, 8 of which have been implemented and came into effect from September 2024.
This new programme is sponsored by our President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Lisa Roberts, to support and enable our strategic aim of creating a sustainable and diverse future internal talent pipeline for our University Executive Board. This programme will bring together a cohort of senior colleagues (across academic and professional services) to participate in an inclusive and practical senior-level leadership programme.
Mentoring and coaching were prioritised in this year's WICC priorities, with pilots already live in some faculties and divisions.
