Neurodiversity Cafe

Neurodiversity Cafe

The Neurodiversity Café is a social group that is open to any staff member or PGR student who identifies as neurodivergent – we use Nick Walker’s definition of neurodivergence (NEURODIVERSITY: SOME BASIC TERMS & DEFINITIONS • NEUROQUEER).

The Café’s aims to create a neurodivergent-led, confidential and supportive space to meet regularly to talk about things that matter to us.  We will also set up a private Teams channel to have a space for informal chat.

To join the Neurodiversity Cafe, or get more information please fill in this Microsoft Form

We run Body Doubling Sessions on alternating Wednesdays and Fridays 14:00-15:30

Understanding International Students' Perspectives on Disability and Neurodivergence: A Multi UK University Study

There is cultural variation in awareness, conceptualisation and understanding of neurodivergence. International students studying in UK universities and who are neurodivergent may or may not be aware of the support available and there is currently little understanding of the ways in which international students seek support for a disability or having a neurodivergent condition.

Our researchers are collaborating with researchers at Universities of Bath, Sussex, Lancaster, Queen Mary University of London, Hertfordshire, Portsmouth, and Sunderland to investigate non-disclosure of disability among international students in UK universities.

We invite all international students from the University of Exeter, whether you have a disability or not, to take part in this study. If you decide to take part, it will involve completing an online survey taking approximately 10-20 minutes.

The survey is now live on this website. We would appreciate your help in encouraging as many international students as possible to take part. Any questions about this project please contact Rachel (r.griffiths@exeter.ac.uk).
