Stata

About the software

Stata is a general-purpose statistical software package. Most of its users work in research, especially in the fields of economics, sociology, political science, biomedicine and epidemiology. Stata's capabilities include data management, statistical analysis, graphics, simulations and custom programming. Full details are available on the Stata website [external website].

There are three major builds of Stata:

Stata/MP – for multiprocessor computers (including dual-core and multi-core processors)
Stata/SE – the Standard Edition
Stata/IC – for smaller databases
These three builds are available as GradPlan purchases for students only. GradPlan licences may be perpetual, annual or for six months. GradPlan licences may not be upgraded or converted to a new flavour.
