Joint workshop “Philosophy of AI and Digital Infrastructuresâ€
Egenis Centre for the Study of Life Sciences, Exeter & the Ethics in IT (EIT) research group, Hamburg
How can failures of algorithmic decision-making be repaired? How does the automation of information affect democratic culture? How does AI affect or change Open Science? These are just some of the questions that will be addressed in this 1 ½-day workshop, which brings together the ‘Ethics in IT’ (EIT) group of Prof. Judith Simon at the University of Hamburg and researchers affiliated with the Egenis Centre at the University of Exeter. Using the broad range of disciplines and expertise represented at the workshop, we will explore the challenges and opportunities that recent developments in AI and digital infrastructures raise.
