Archaeology Research Seminar

Event details

This seminar presents headline results and reflections on the AHRC-funded Warhorse project and launches a new book based on the work. Warhorse. Equestrian landscapes, material culture and zooarchaeology in Britain AD800-1550 is a radical new study of medieval warhorses based on extensive archaeological and historical research. It considers the evidence of horses’ physical remains (bones, teeth and DNA), equipment, armour, visual representations and the documentary evidence for the environments in which they were bred and trained in order to create a new account of the changing place of the horse in the medieval world.
