Studying on the Globalisation Program

Undergraduate students are invited to apply to take part in…

VIU Globalisation Program; Each semester there is a course offering of 20+ courses (modules) which are English-taught by visiting professors from the member universities and are recognised for credit. Courses on the three core topics are on offer every semester. There are six specialisation tracks with three available in alternate semesters.

For students attending a semester of the Globalisation Program there are internship and scholarship opportunities available:

  • Student Internships. For students attending a semester of the Globalisation Program who wish to do an internship in a host organization in Italy following the semester, there are interesting opportunities that are two to four months long. The internships take place either during the winter break or during the summer months. Full details can be found on the VIU website.
  • Student Scholarships. Any student regularly enrolled in any Bachelor or Master's degree program in a VIU Member University, who wishes to register or is already registered for the VIU Globalisation Program, can apply for a RED scholarship. The RED (Residency-Excellence-Diversity) scholarship is worth €1,625 and awarded to talented students to contribute to the cost of living in Venice for a semester. Successful applicants will be expected to promote excellence and diversity in the Globalisation Program, and contribute to co-curricular activities - such as organisation of conversations on key topics that involve students, professors and staff taking place each week; the Globalization Program plenary workshop and on-line magazine. We are pleased to announce the latest call for members of our academic community to teach for 1 semester at Venice International University, as part of VIU’s Globalization Programme. This call is for Academic Year 2025-2026.

      Academic Year 2025 – 2026

  • 1st Semester (September – December 2025)
  • 2nd Semester (February – May 2026)

If you have previously taught on the Globalisation Programme your application will only be considered if we don’t receive applications to teach on the Globalisation Programme from eligible candidates who haven’t previously taught at VIU.
