About Exeter Innovation

Exeter Innovation (EI) works across the research, development, innovation and skills landscape by: driving impact – supporting academics to develop impact; connecting partners - helping build links with potential partners locally, nationally and globally; creating opportunities - helping to structure relationships and create opportunities for collaboration using national and regional funding; and, generating value – supporting income generation; such as IP licensing, spin-outs, consultancy, facilities access, training services and entrepreneurship across the University.

Exeter Innovation, ensures that the University of Exeter makes a difference in the world through our work with partners, be they industry, charities or government.

By translating ideas into action the University can make a real positive impact locally, nationally and internationally.

Exeter Innovation works with organisations to understand their needs and connect them to our world leading research, learning, expertise and facilities, enabling them to develop and co-create the solutions that they need.

Our offer spans skills and workforce development. Whilst through consultancy, collaborative and contract research, and access to our facilities we help partners large and small to formulate strategy and policy, develop new products and services and deliver change.

Knowledge Exchange Awards 2027

Exeter Innovation hosts the Knowledge Exchange Awards to celebrate the people, partnerships and projects that bring University of Exeter expertise together with businesses, organisations, policymakers and communities to create positive change.

Taking place on 14 January 2027, the Awards will bring colleagues and partners together for a gala dinner and awards ceremony, recognising outstanding achievements across the University. Winners will be presented with trophies as we celebrate the work, collaborations and ideas making a difference beyond the University.

From partnerships with businesses and communities to commercialisation, innovation and shaping policy, the evening is a chance to recognise and celebrate the breadth of knowledge exchange happening across Exeter.
