I have been a lecturer in Hebrew Bible at the University of Exeter since 2019 and have expertise in food and alcohol in ancient Israel. I am also interested in the role of the Bible in contemporary media such as video games, for example, see my article 'Isaac Rebounds: A Video Game Retelling of the Aqedah' published in the Journal for the Study of the Old Testament (2019). My monograph was published in the following year entitled 'He is a Glutton and a Drunkard': Deviant Consumption in the Hebrew Bible (Brill, 2020). My current work focuses on a new approach which uses Monster Theory to analyse biblical receptions.
