Dr Aneta Brockhill

Politics at Penryn

Aneta Brockhill joined the Politics Department at Penryn as a Lecturer in Politics and International Relations in June 2016. Previously she was an Associate Lecturer in the School of Law, Criminology and Government at the University of Plymouth where she obtained her doctorate, funded by the Centre for Research in Sustainable Leadership, Governance and Policy.

Aneta is currently a Director of Admissions and a Widening Participation Coordinator for Penryn Politics.

Aneta teaches modules on Politics and IR in the Middle East. She also teaches Key Concepts in Politics and International Relations and runs the US Field Trip. Built on the principles of decolonising education and critical pedagogies of compassion, Aneta’s teaching employs a plethora of decolonizing modes and strategies to create a classroom that is a site of decolonial learning, action-oriented engagement and transnational solidarity.


Research supervision:

I am happy to supervise research students working on the question of Palestine, Israel’s occupation of Palestine, settler colonialism, violence and human security and decolonial approaches in IR.
