I have joined the University of Exeter as Lecturer in British Politics from Swansea University in September 2019. Before Swansea, I worked as an Associate Lecturer (and then a Lecturer) in Quantitative Methods at the Exeter Q-Step Centre and contributed to the ESRC-funded 'Media in Context' project as an Associate Research Fellow between 2014 and 2017. Prior to completing my PhD, I also taught at the University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent University and Kemerovo State University (Russia).

I hold a PhD in Politics from the University of Nottingham and a Candidate of Contemporary World History degree from Tomsk State University (Russia). I am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Both my research and teaching revolve around my long-standing interest in political representation in Britain and western democracies. They stretch from exploring role model effect and symbolic representation of women and ethnic minorities to studying substantive religious representation in the UK Parliament and issues relating to accountability, political attitudes and the effects of political environment.

I teach modules on parliamentary studies (co-delivered with the UK Parliament) and political representation, and comparative political recruitment, as well as on research design and research methods, which reflect my susbstantive research and methodological expertise.
