Ibrahim is doing a PhD in Control Systems at the University of Exeter, UK. His research focuses on Fault Tolerant Control (FTC) for fixed-wing Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) UAVs, specifically octoplanes, using Sliding Mode Control (SMC) techniques. His thesis involves designing and implementing FTC schemes for octoplanes, addressing actuator faults and failures across various flight modes, including vertical take-off, hover, and cruise, through advanced SMC and Linear Parameter-Varying (LPV) approaches. His research is funded by the Republic of Türkiye's Ministry of National Education Scholarship (MoNE-1416).
