Thursday 23 Jun 2016: Dynamics seminar: Inter-subject variability in cardiac electrophysiology: from ion channels to the electrocardiogram
Blanca Rodriguez - University of Oxford
H101 14:30-16:30
The electrophysiological activity of hearts from individuals of the same species is qualitatively similar under physiological conditions, but they can exhibit significant inter-subject differences following pharmacological action or disease. The causes and modulators of inter-subject variability are however unknown and under active investigation. In this presentation, I will describe how we have developed and used advanced computational modelling of the heart to augment experimental and clinical investigations with the main aim of identifying key factors underlying the inter-subject variability of human hearts in health and disease.
