Wednesday 10 Aug 2016: Dynamics seminar: Thermodynamic properties of Fibonacci unimodal maps.

To investigate pressure and further thermodynamic properties of non-uniformly expanding maps (such as smooth interval maps with critical points), inducing techniques are a standard tool. All known results in this area for non-Collet-Eckmann maps are achieved this way In this talk, I want to discuss ("linearized") Fibonacci unimodal maps, which are extreme in the sense that they include cases where Lebesgue measure is dissipative (wild attractor) and the standard inducing methods fail. This is based on joint work with Mike Todd (St. Andrews).
